Today is #CleanOffYourDeskDay, so we asked authors:
How clean is your desk?
Check out who’s organized and who needs a visit from Marie Kondo.
Katherine Garbera, author of One Night Gamble:
I try to keep my desk clean but I also like all my notebooks, pens, pictures and little momentos near my desktop. So I usually clean it when I finish a book and then let the mess build!
Julie Rowe, author of Slight of Hand Jan 28, 2019:
My desk is 90% covered in piles of paper, pens, pencils, post-it notes, receipts, books, knicknacks, and other cra…stuff. There’s a tiny gap where my computer sits and another for my tea cup and mouse (they share). When my family asks where all of my marbles went, I point at my desk and wish them luck at finding any of those slippery little suckers. Once a year, I clean my desk off and see what treasures I can find under all of the cra…stuff. I’ve found money, chocolate, gift cards, and photos I thought I lost. Is your desk a mess? Find any treasures under your cra…stuff? :-)

I just moved into a new house this summer where my husband and I actually have an office and an official place for my desk! I’m not lying when I say this is what my desk ALWAYS looks like. I admit I’m a bit of a neat freak, as well as very easily distracted! I have a lamp, a framed card from Debbie Macomber, and post-it’s…one which is from my daughter telling me she loves me. I also have my desk pushed against the wall so I’m not distracted by whatever’s happening out side the window, unlike my husband with a great view and amazing built-in’s behind him, which I also couldn’t have because nothing distracts me like books!

I have two work spaces. At home and the day job. Currently I’m like the white tornado in my home office. It’s a complete disaster as I go through all the things and sort/clean/toss/organize. :)
Tell us about your workspace in the comments. Are you super organized or a hot mess?
