What a fun game! Thanks for inviting me to play.
I’m Dani Collins, author of The Prospector’s Only Prospect, a slow-burn, Western romcom with a mail-order bride who really doesn’t want to marry again and a grumpy, single-dad who really needs a wife.
Let’s see…
Candy hearts OR box of chocolates?
-Chocolate. Always every day no matter what.
Flowers OR jewelry?
-This is a tough one, seeing as I’m very snowed in at the moment and dying for signs of spring. A multi-colored tennis bracelet would certainly cheer me up, though!
Romantic dinner at a fancy restaurant OR romantic picnic outdoors?
-Another tough one. We did have a fabulous, wildly expensive dinner once, in Bruges. That city is incredibly beautiful and it made for a once-in-a-lifetime treat. I can definitely make-do with a picnic and a pretty view from now on.
Art museum date OR paint your own pottery date?
-I *want* to be artistic, but I get so disappointed in myself when it doesn’t work out so probably the visit to the art museum would be more satisfying.
Couple sweaters OR couple tattoos?
-Ha! I’ve wanted a tattoo since my thirtieth birthday. I cannot decide what it should be and I *know* my husband will never get one, ever, so I think we’re going to have to go with the matching sweaters.
Fancy wine OR decadent milkshakes?
-Wine. My husband will order the milkshake and we’ll steal sips from each other. #BestOfBothWorlds
Getaway on a Caribbean cruise OR getaway on an Alaskan cruise?
-Caribbean. Did I mention the snow piled up around my house?
Stuffed teddy bear gift OR silk teddy lingerie gift?
-Lingerie. Nothing against teddy bears, though. They’re cute, too.
Award-winning and USA Today Bestselling author Dani Collins thrives on giving readers emotional, compelling, heart-soaring romance with laughter and heat thrown in, just like real life.

The Prospector’s Only Prospect
Ordering a bride was supposed to be easy…
The rush is on for both gold and marriage in this charming historical.
After eight days in a cramped stagecoach, divorcée Marigold Davis already regrets her decision to come to Denver City to marry. She certainly didn’t realize she’d signed up for mosquitos, mud, and scores of rough men eyeing her like a hot meal on a cold day. But with her life in Kansas all but incinerated, Marigold needs a husband. Even if she’s not the bride that gold prospector Virgil Gardner is expecting…
Virgil Gardner has a reputation as a grumpy hard-ass, and he’s fine with it. He’s also no fool – this is not the woman he agreed to marry. It takes a tough-as-nails woman to survive the harshness of a Rocky Mountain gold claim, and this whiskey-eyed, gentle beauty is certainly not the type. Now it’s just a matter of how quickly she’ll quit, so he can find a wife who will stick. Someone who can care for the only thing he values even more than gold–his children.
But Marigold isn’t about to give in. Cramped in a one room shack. Berry picking turned into a bear escape. Or, cooking for an entire crew of bottomless pits. She’s got more grit than most. And just when Virgil starts to realize his replacement bride might be the treasure he’s been looking for, an unannounced guest arrives… to change everything.
