When I stop to think about it, I truly have been blessed with the support of family and friends throughout my entire life. I’ve also been blessed with many canine companions, and while they may not have known it, their love and friendship also kept me going through life’s little triumphs and big failures.
A photographic tribute to the people and canines who’ve come and gone in my life…
My dad with Samoyeds Frosty and Kobie. Frosty was the first dog I ever owned. Kobie was her little boy.
Here I am with Kobie. Kobie was born in our house. Frosty decided she didn’t like the breeding box my dad made for her, so she jumped up on the sofa and had her pups there! Mom wasn’t too happy about that, but being a doctor and a mother, she understood.
This pic was taken in my first apartment. Kiska was a beautiful Alaskan Malamute. This boy would go on walkabout for hours and come home when he was hungry. The “Big K” was a loving, devoted companion.
Next came my Belgian sheepdogs, Taz and Jet. When they were puppies, they looked like little black bear cubs. They were like two furry peas in a pod.
Taz and Jet were the smartest, most loving dogs, and they’ll be a hard act to follow. Although, I’ve thought that after losing every one of my beloved canines.
