#TravelTuesday with Amy Fellner Dominy

I love to travel and this April I got a chance to visit one of those Bucket List spots: Alaska.

When you think of Alaska, you probably think cold. And well, yes it was.

And you might think glaciers.

There were definitely glaciers. Glacier Bay was my favorite spot.

But you might not expect some other things that I also wasn’t expecting.

Like, Orcas right off the side of our boat.

And the Northern Lights. We had to go up on deck at about 1:00am to see it, but it was my first chance and I wasn’t missing it!

There were also spectacular sunsets.

And it wasn’t all snow. There were also waterways that led to forested areas with mucky bogs that I loved tromping around in. Here’s a group shot–I’m second from the end.

Notice our “Alaska Sneakers.”

The whole time I was there, I kept wondering how I could write a story and work Alaska in as the setting. For one thing, it would be a really cool place to set a book. For another, it would mean another trip back. :)

I may know everything there is to know about baseball, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Or like him. Garrett Reeves: sidelined player and the embodiment of everything I’ve learned to hate about baseball. He’s gorgeous, he’s cocky, he’s laser-focused on getting back in the game, no matter the cost.

When he convinces me to call games alongside him, our chemistry heats up the booth. We’re good together, whether I want to admit it or not. I’m finding that I like baseball again, but even worse, I’m liking Garrett. A lot.

But when he has to decide between our future and a new shot at his dreams, I know baseball will win out every time.
