Top 5 Favorite Dog Breeds
Hi, all! Jennifer here. I became a total “dog person” ever since we adopted a dog five years ago. Since then, I’ve been wanting to write a story with a veterinarian hero. And finally I have!
It was hard choosing a breed of dog to adopt. I have allergies. I didn’t want a lot of shedding. I wanted a dog my daughter could easily walk. Yada yada. I can’t believe we found one that checked all the boxes.
However, if I could chose any TOP 5 Dog Breeds I could adopt, it would definitely be these:
5) Labradoodle
All the benefits of a big friendly dog plus great hair. People pay good money for curls like that.
4) Pug
Yes, a Pug has a face only a dog mom could love, but I LOVE. Plus, the double curl tail… C’mon!
3) Corgi
Those ears and that long body. Plus, I don’t know…they seem so chill. ☺
2) Dachshund
Not much fur to pet, but they are smart and from what I hear, extremely well read.
1) My Dog
This is Sox! We did a DNA test on him and he’s a mix breed. Put who can resist those eyes and the white paws. And he loves his mommy. <3
Hope you get to check out Wade and his dog “Roxy” in my latest release:
P.S. Roxy is one of the breeds listed above!
Veterinarian Wade Roberts is done with love. But try convincing the elderly folk of Cape Harmony who are determined to play matchmaker. Now the young single women in town are bombarding him with baked goods and love notes, and being “taken” is the only way to stop the meddling grannies—which is why he needs a fake fiancée. Fast.
Arden Pearson loves planning weddings. Other people’s weddings, that is. After her own engagement ended in disaster, she prefers to live vicariously through her work. But when she needs to persuade a big client that she’s capable of planning the celebrity wedding of the year, she’s willing to go as far as pretending to be engaged herself to her best friend’s older brother.
Soon their ruse has everyone in town believing they make the perfect couple—including Arden. She’s always been nothing more than a kid sister to Wade, and it might take a village to convince him otherwise…
USA TODAY bestselling author, Jennifer Shirk, has a bachelor degree in pharmacy-which has in NO WAY at all helped her with her writing career. But she likes to point it out, since it shows romantic-at-hearts come in all shapes, sizes, and mind-numbing educations. She writes sweet romances (some even funny!) and won third place in the RWA 2006 NYC’s Kathryn Hayes Love and Laughter Contest with her first book, The Role of a Lifetime. Recently, her novel Sunny Days for Sam won the 2013 Golden Quill Published Authors Contest for Best Traditional Romance. She’s a board member for Straight Ahead Ministries, an organization involved in helping spread the gospel and aiding medical and pharmacy students in Russia. She’s also a board member of the Ocean City Library Board of Trustees. She resides in a beach resort in NJ, and when she’s not involved in all the above, she’s taking care of her most treasured possessions: her husband, daughter, guinea pig (Rocco), puppy (Sox) and four hermit crabs.
Dogs are so awesome! We have 2 Australian Cattle Dogs aka Queensland Heelers!
I don’t know what I was thinking but I just love them!?
Ha! Bet you have your hands full ;)
