Meet Dean
Meet Cas
Meet my OTP
Okay, so I know this is a contentious ship. There are some Supernatural fans out there who refuse to believe tough-guy hunter Dean Winchester and angel of the Lord Castiel love each other, but as far as I’m concerned it couldn’t be clearer.
A lot has been written about the subtext of this pair’s interactions on Tumblr (oh man, have I wasted a lot of time on Tumblr thanks to Destiel), but today I’m going to focus on just a few VISUAL reasons as to why I ship the hell out of Dean and Cas.
Let’s start with their first meeting…
After that first meeting…well, this pair just couldn’t stop looking at each other
And then they couldn’t stop looking at each other’s mouths
Or touching each other…
The sexual tension between them is off the charts
Dean will risk death to keep Cas safe, and Cas has defied orders from Heaven to protect Dean
Dean reaches out for Cas over and over. Cares for him.
And despite the fact Cas is a tad…odd sometimes, Dean is totally okay with that
In fact, Dean is totally okay with Cas quite often…and obviously…
Dean and Cas have faced the Apocalypse together and know it
And when Dean thought Cas was dead, he kept Cas’s overcoat, incapable of letting his angel go…
Dean spent a year in Purgatory when he didn’t have to because he refused to leave without Cas. If that ain’t love, I don’t know what is. And when he finally found him, the hug was profound…
Dean will get jealous over Cas (just like any boyfriend)
And it’s Dean’s emotional confession that drags Cas back from the brink when he was beyond saving
Even other angels ship it
In fact, even Dean is pretty much shipping it
And even though it’s not canon yet…I’m hoping it will be very soon. I mean, really, how it could it not?
Pick up The Mistaken Billionaire by Lexxie Couper for just 99¢!
Thomas St Clair is used to getting exactly what he wants, when he wants it. So when a mysterious woman shows up at his door with his runaway dog and her presence drives away his writer’s block, he’s willing to put up with her secrets if it means she’ll stay around.
Mila Elderkin once had a promising career in journalism, until her dreams were shattered by a rising star in the literary world. When fate lands her at that same man’s door years later, and he doesn’t recognize her, it seems she’s been offered a chance for a little fun. Mila’s not out for revenge, especially not once she starts to see the man beneath the persona. But the past has funny way of creeping into the present, and secrets don’t lie quiet forever.
Lexxie Couper started writing when she was six and hasn’t stopped since. She’s not a deviant, but she does have a deviant’s imagination and a desire to entertain readers with her words. Add the two together and you get erotic romances that can make you laugh, cry, shake with fear or tremble with desire. Sometimes all at once. When she’s not submerged in the worlds she creates, Lexxie’s life revolves around her family, a husband who thinks she’s insane, a indoor cat who likes to stalk shadows, and her daughters, who both utterly captured her heart and changed her life forever. Having no idea how old she really is, Lexxie decided to go with 27 and has been that age for quite some time now. It’s the best of both worlds – old enough to act mature, young enough to be silly. Lexxie lives by two simple rules – measure your success not by how much money you have, but by how often you laugh, and always try everything at least once. As a consequence, she’s laughed her way through many an eyebrow raising adventure.
I love the Dean and Cas relationship, and I love the sly little jabs the show gives to the fandom’s shippers. You did a masterful job with the GIFs laying out your case! :)
But I have to say, it’s not really a healthy relationship. Dean is such a dick to poor Cas most of the time! (I say that being a full-on Dean girl and an apologist for pretty much anything to do with the show. LOL)
