We’re Dishing Sweet Romance Movies with Sonya Weiss

If movies were an illegal substance I’d be in some serious trouble. I love movies-action, drama, science fiction, coming of age, adventure, westerns, comedy and romance. Especially romance.

I love the ins and outs of relationships and seeing fictional characters overcome whatever is keeping them apart. I like to see the couple get together in the end so that the happily ever after works out.

I think that’s one reason that I like Hallmark romance movies. They’re sweet and there’s usually a great ending to the movie. Someone bought the Hallmark movie The Color of Rain and gave it to me as a gift. The back blurb of the movie talks about the heroine losing her husband on Christmas Day and then mentions that the hero lost his wife recently. It was a movie about love and loss and overcoming grief. It’s a beautiful movie but it is a tearjerker.

I mention that one because it really is a must-watch if you like Hallmark movies. But my favorite sweet movie of all time isn’t a Hallmark one. But it is the sweetest romance movie I have ever seen.

As an added plus, it’s a Christmas movie and I love movies set in that season. It takes place in a small town that’s all decked out with holiday cheer and it has that whole family closeness vibe.

Anyway, this movie stars John Newton from Desperate Housewives and Alice Evans from The Chris Isaak Show. The two have great chemistry in the movie.

I don’t want to give away too much by way of spoilers in case you haven’t seen it yet. But the gist of the movie is that the heroine Faith, sends out cards every Christmas to soldiers in the military. Her card reaches the hero Cody and because of that card, he feels compelled to go and find her.
