All right, I’ll admit it. When I was asked to write an #IShipIt post, I was like, “Umm…okay?” I had no idea what any of this was, so I binge read all the previous #IShipIt posts. I noticed three very important things:
- These posts are super fun!
- Every couple I wanted to talk about had already been discussed. Damon Elena. Buffy and Angel. Pacey and Joey.
- The authors who have written these are gif masters, and I really have to up my game if I’m going to play along.
Okay, so I’m digging deep here and going back to show that is so far from a romance but has one of the best couples of all time…
THE X-FILES!
Allow me to introduce you to: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully
Anyone who has watched this show knows it’s about two FBI agents who are, to put it very simply, hunting aliens and uncovering some major government conspiracies.
But along the way, without really knowing it, this epic, “out of this world” love story unfolds.
It’s not easy getting there, though. These two are always in danger. Always!
And they are always saving each other, always by one another’s side through the worst of it.
Why is it such an awesome relationship? Because despite the craziness of their jobs, they find the time to be together and have fun.
They take baths and have late night phone calls…
They tease each other, joke and laugh…
They dance…
They hang out on the couch, drinking beers and eating popcorn…
Through all of it, we stuck with them, waiting, hoping, longing for that first kiss. Finally, after seven—SEVEN!—seasons, we got it! And man, it was well worth the wait.
Once they started, they didn’t stop, either.
And seriously, at the end of the day, who is going to complain about looking at this??
Well, there you have it. The ultimate #IShipIt couple ever! Now, if you’ll all excuse me, I have to go binge watch this on Netflix. Again.
