Aloha! My name is Melissa Schroeder and I love Hawaii! We were stationed there for three years and we have been back several times. Several of my series are set in Hawaii, so I use the excuse that it is a tax write off to go. What? It’s a real thing. I do research while I am there and go on buying trips to the Aloha Swap Meet for giveaways.
We returned this Spring and it was as wonderful as always. It is my happy place and this trip marked my first real vacation in 4 years.

No trip is complete without a stop by Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, our stomping grounds for our three years there. The Missing Man Memorial is one of my favorite places on Hickam.
Too soon, our time was over and we were on our way back to the mainland. This was my last view from the Hilton lobby before we headed back to the airport.
