I’m a huge fan of all Linda Howard romantic suspense couples. The women are badass and the men are struggling to find ways to keep them safe without stealing their autonomy. In Prey, Death Angel and Shadow Women the heroes all step back and allow the heroine to let her freak flag fly before they see their “in” to get the heroine to consider a relationship with them. Right now, Prey is my favorite, because I’m in a cowboy mood lately. The hero, Dare Callahan, has been in love with Angie Powell for two years, but it takes a bear attack, a psycho massacring her customers, and a few days hiding in a bare hut (in bed, of course) to convince Angie he’s the one for her. What a ride…
