It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

We’ve always loved watching A Charlie Brown Christmas. I’m 100% the person who’d pick the saddest tree on the lot and bring it home. Now, we have two fake Charlie Brown trees that we put up every year!

Love, Actually & Elf are my go-tos, though I usually throw in a Harry Potter marathon in there, too. And you didn’t ask, but the best Christmas album is Hanson’s Snowed In.

It’s a three-way tie between Christmas Vacation, Die Hard, and While You Were Sleeping.

My favorite holiday movie is Home Alone, not just because it’s fun family viewing with zaniness, good heart, and great messages of love, (and a cameo clarinet player) but also because my older two insisted their baby-brother-to-be should be named after the very brave and clever little hero. Thus, my children are Jamie, Allyson…and Kevin. :)

For as long as I can remember, I’ve watched holiday movies with my family in December. I love so many of them, but my favorite would have to be the black and white classic, It’s a Wonderful Life, starring James Stewart as George Bailey. It’s become a tradition for my sister and I, and sometimes our parents and significant others, to watch it together on December 24th. I think it started because it’s always on TV that night, but the message about the number of people who one person can positively impact always gets me in the holiday spirit. In fact, I love It’s a Wonderful Life so much I even named my new kitten, Zuzu, after one of George’s kids and the pivotal scene where he finds the petals from Zuzu’s flower in his pocket. Can’t wait to watch it again this year!

I don’t have just one favorite movie. Movies are my favorite! Lol. I love Beauty and the Beast, The Twilight Saga, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Inception, Mad Max Fury Road…pretty much anything with Tom Hardy in it. The year that Jurassic Park came out I asked for it on VHS. I told my entire family that was it, nothing else. That’s all I received that year.

Hands down, Dr. Seuss’ How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the original cartoon)…paired with holiday beverage of course. ? FYI, the word “who” is used a LOT.

It’s actually a tie for me. My mom would laugh so hard that she would cry every year when we watched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, so that one holds a special place in my heart. My most recent favorite is Elf, though. Will Ferrell is hilarious!
