We asked our authors what movies they are most looking forward to seeing this summer, and they came up with a list of comedic, dramatic, and action-packed films. Check it out!
Kira Archer:
I’m a total movie nut so bear with me!
- Finding Dory—just saw it and it was so cute! This was my son’s favorite movie when he was a baby and it was one I could actually stomach watching over and over. The sequel was fantastic!
Legend of Tarzan—I’ve always loved the Tarzan story but if I’m honest, Alexander Skarsgard in a loin cloth…just sayin’ :-D - Ghostbusters—I love Melissa McCarthy and Kristin Wiig and love the old Ghostbusters movies so I’m really excited about this one.
- The Secret Life of Pets—this one looks hilarious! We always have the goofiest pets and I can just imagine what they get up to when we are gone.
- THE ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS MOVIE!!—OMG I’m a HUGE Ab Fab fan so I’ve been waiting for this for years!!
There are several others I’m looking forward to, but these are the ones I’m DYING to see :-D
Cindi Madsen:
I was looking forward to Captain America: Civil War forever, and I loved it! Next up is Ghostbusters—awesome cast and looks hilarious. Suicide Squad looks awesome, too. I love comic book movies.
Alice Gaines:
The new Ghostbusters!
Cole Gibsen:
I’m a comic book junkie, so of course I was first in line to Captain America and X-Men Apocalypse. They did not disappoint!
Kerri Carpenter:
Independence Day: Resurgence! When the original Independence Day movie came out, I was in high school. It was the first movie that I ever saw at a midnight showing. I thought it was amazing! And then I saw it three more times. I’m also looking forward to Star Trek Beyond because, come on, Chris Pine! Hello!
Marnee Blake, Embrace Author:
I really want to see The Secret Life of Pets. It looks funny, and I loved the Despicable Me movies. I have a cat, and I could see him plotting to take over the world while I’m not around.
I hardly ever go to the movies. I’m one of those that waits until its out for couch consumption. That being said, I’m really looking forward to the new Ghostbuster movies and, after watching the trailer posted by fabulous Kira Archer, I’m now looking forward to seeing ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS, THE MOVIE.
I’m also a Netflix person, but some movies will get me to the theater.
What a fun topic! I’m looking forward to PARIS CAN WAIT (cause I love all romantic movies). MY COUSIN RACHEL looks pretty creepy.Billed as the new standard for romantic comedy, THE BIG SICK, was a breakout at Sundance and I adore Zoe Kazan and I won’t be missing DESPICABLE ME THREE. :)
