Wouldn’t it be great to be a romance novelist? Isn’t it all glamorous award ceremonies and Louboutin heels? Designer dresses and the shoes to match.

See, the thing about writing is that you can do it ANYWHERE! Even in a tiny converted shed out on a farm in the middle of nowhere. It’s no good wearing the six-inch stilettos to traipse through the fields. What’s a girl to do?
These are my solution: fabulous hot pink wellies with a ribbon bow. Admittedly, the bow gets a bit muddy and the boots get a bit mucky. But they do make me smile every time I pull them on. And really, that’s what all the best shoes are about, whether they’re Jimmy Choos or Crocs. Or wellington boots. So tell me, what are the shoes that always make you smile?
