CHARLIE
Character Interview with Charlie Johansson
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Good morning, Charlie. Can you describe yourself in five words or less.
Hey there, Magna Maniac Café. How you doin? Oops, sorry. I used to have a problem with over-flirting. I promised a certain redheaded ballerina I would only flirt with her from now on. Describe myself in five words? I’d say: loyal, leader, soldier, soon-to-be-uncle, Ellie-worshiper
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you share a typical day in the life of Charlie Johansson? Right now, I’m enjoying the last few days of leave after being deployed in Afghanistan. Even on R&R, I start my day early, working out or playing hockey with some buddies. After that, I’m pretty much at the beck and call of Ellie, either watching her teach ballet or grabbing her for some quick kisses. Though I prefer long kisses.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What three words come to mind when you think of Ellie? Trusting, sexy, redhead
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What do you find most exasperating about her? This might sound kind of whipped, but honestly, nothing Ellie does exasperates me. Although, judging by how we first met through emails (Ellie writes one hell of an email), she might be a little too trusting.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] If you could change one thing you’ve done in your life, what would it be? That’s an easy one. I wasn’t completely honesty with Ellie about who I was when we met in person. Huge regret.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What’s one thing you won’t leave home without? I spent seven years restoring my 1976 Chevy Impala. When I’m not deployed, I insist on driving everywhere in my sweet baby.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] What’s the story behind your nickname? The guys in boot camp started calling me Big Game Hunter. It was ten years ago; I can’t even remember why exactly, but it stuck. I guess I had kind of a…bad reputation about women. I never liked the nickname, but it’s the army, everyone has a nickname.
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Can you share your dreams for the future in five words or less. Cherish and love Ellie forever
[Manga Maniac Cafe] Thank you! My pleasure, darlin. ;)

Twelve Questions with Cole Collins, Swoon-Worthy Washington Nationals First Baseman from The Practice Proposal
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A professional baseball player…always. I dressed up as one every Halloween until I was eleven.
What group did you hang out with in high school?
The varsity baseball team, some really cute girls, and my grandma.
Do you play any sports?
You could say that!
Tell us about your family.
The Nationals are my family. They drafted me right out of college, so I’ve kind of grown up with them. Even though I struggled in the minor league for years, they kept me around and believed in me. Finally, I was ready for my big chance in the big league. Now I’ve had two All-Star seasons, won a Golden Glove and a Silver Slugger. I never could’ve done it without my team.
What one word best describes you?
Crush. That’s the nickname Nats fans gave me, mostly because I have a tendency to crush baseballs out of the park on a regular basis.
What do you do to unwind and relax?
Batting practice.
What is your favorite meal?
I’m kinda partial to the Walk of Shame burrito over at Ted’s Bulletin in DC. Sirloin steak, scrambled eggs, hash browns, cheddar cheese and green chile sauce. Yep, it’s all in there!
What would you consider to be the best book you have ever read?
The Practice Proposal, hands down. Hey, it’s my story!
Is there a writer you idolize? If so who?
I really like Tracy March! ;)
Do you have a favorite quote, quip, or
saying? What is it?
“See. You. Later!” That’s what the television commentators say every time one of the Nationals hits a home run ball.
What are you passionate about these days?
Liza Sutherland—who would’ve guessed?—winning the World Series, and getting a new contract with the Nationals.
What was the scariest moment of your life?
It’s coming soon. I’m about to propose to Liza!

I think Charlie would be more my type (if I were 40 years younger that is). I have always preferred the clean cut kind of guy and Charlie seems to fit that description.
